A Lot of Determination in Thailand

The financial contribution that the International Aid Fund, with your support, was able to offer to the Baantontham kindergarten in Udon Thani, Thailand, has created a lot of positive energy with the school principal Supattra and her husband! A lot of hard work has been done in the past few months.

In the previous newsletter, I already showed you part of the fencing in a photo. At this moment, the fencing has been placed entirely around the school grounds. The positive wave also led to new wooden playground equipment being made in the school garden. And the floors in the school building have been provided with new tiles.

However, the worries are not over yet. The pressure and control of the government on school systems cause a lot of distrust among the Thai population. Not everyone dares to allow their child this form of education. The Baantontham kindergarten would like to grow in student numbers. Also, to be financially healthy as it was before the corona pandemic. The support from the Netherlands that Supattra feels and the confidence in Waldorf education gives her the strength to continue. So she organizes a playgroup for interested parents and their children in which she shows what the school has to offer. She makes dolls with the parents and bakes buns with the children. Parents are grateful and enthusiastic. A few parents dared to enroll their child for a new school year. Hopefully, more will follow. Supattra wants to continue with the playgroups on weekends to get more and more parents excited about her school. The International Aid Fund would like to continue to support her and her school until the resilience is vigorous again. Will you help?
